London and Birmingham Railway contracts 4B, 5B & 6B civil engineering
construction records 1836/7.
These are contained within a ledger type
document and record all the civil engineering
structures between Kings Langley (just north
of Watford Tunnel) and Tring Station. For
each built structure the types and quantities
of materials used are recorded at approximately
monthly intervals. For cuttings and embankments
earth quantities & movements are
given.
